HOW TO CHOOSE A DOWN DUVET

1. CHOOSE A WARMTH LEVEL

ULTRALIGHT: Designed for those who sleep hot, but still want a light covering and a touch of warmth

SUMMER: For those that sleep warm, in heated bedrooms and warm climates

CLASSIC: Our most popular, it suits average people in average temperatures

WINTER: This is the choice for people that feel the cold and like to sleep in cooler bedrooms. This weight is guaranteed to be warm enough

DUAL ZONE: When one partner is hot and the other is cold, we are happy to make a duvet with different weights on the two sides

SÖVING® : This patented duvet design is adjustable for a wider comfort range

If you are not sure which level to choose, we recommend choosing a lighter weight. While we can add down to a duvet if you are not warm enough, we cannot remove it.

2. CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE

It may sound simple, but choosing the right size duvet is essential for a good night’s sleep. In use, a duvet should rest on top of the bed and settle around the sleepers. If a duvet is too big, it will be hanging over the side of the bed, creating a pull that may disturb sleep.

Our standard sizes will cover the corresponding mattress size up to 15” thick. If you have an exceptionally thick mattress, we offer super king duvets, as well as duvet covers in our ‘high profile’ sizes. These duvet covers have an extra large 4” flange, which covers deep mattresses without adding weight.

We recommend Twin duvets for twin beds, Queen duvets for double and queen beds, King duvets for king beds. Our new Euro Twin will fit all bed sizes and we believe offers a unique solution to improving your sleep.

THE TWO-DUVET SYSTEM

If you happen to share your bed with another sleeper, there is a good chance that, at some point, you’ve played tug-o-war with the blankets. When choosing your next duvet, consider purchasing two Euro Twins, which offer a range of benefits to help you sleep better.

3. CHOOSE YOUR QUALITY

A duvet is the softest, lightest, most comfortable bed covering there is. A high quality duvet will be a pleasure to use each and every night as it floats over you like a warm cloud. The higher the quality of a duvet, the more comfortable it will be. It will feel more light and airy. It will be cozier in the winter, and cooler in the summer.

CANADA'S FINEST

Canadian fills can be found in our Eiderdown, James Bay, Lajord, Söving® and Laroche duvets. The purchase of these duvets supports Canadian farmers, processors, and ultimately, the Canadian economy.

THE ULTIMATE IN LUXURY

Eiderdown, James Bay, and Embassy are among the rarest downs in the world. Discerning customers investing in these beautiful downs should expect a lifetime of comfort and warmth.

TICKING TALK

All of our tickings have been specially selected for their down-proof weaves and superb quality. Our specially woven German tickings utilize Vital-Finish, resulting in superior moisture wicking and breathability. Our top three luxury downs are available in a unique batiste ticking made of TENCEL™ lyocell and cotton. This fabric is light, airy, and has a crisp feel that makes it feel cooler than a sateen weave. Please note that, because of nature of the weave, these duvets have a slight “rustle” compared to a duvet with a sateen ticking. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

SUSTAINABILITY

We are proud to offer many sustainable options for down. Our Eiderdown is hand-collected from a sanctuary in Quebec called Duvetnor, while James Bay down is collected by First Nations people of Canada. In addition, Embassy, Salzburg, Ziegler, Söving®, Lajord and Estate come from free range family run farms. We are committed to ensuring that all of our down is collected ethically and, as members of the Down Association of Canada, are subject to regular audits of standards.
