QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
MADE WITH NATURAL FIBERS
We prioritize the use of natural fibers sourced from European mills with strong commitments to environmentally sustainable practices.
We love natural fibres for their unmatched beauty and breathability. Unlike their synthetic counterparts, which are derived from crude oil, natural fibres are completely biodegradable. We source our textiles from European mills with high environmental and ethical production standards. These mills incorporate materials certified by third-party organizations such as the Global Organic Textile Standard, Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification, and the Wool Integrity™ Programme. We proudly offer product ranges made from certified organic cotton, linen, silk, as well as new innovative sustainable fibres like lyocell and modal.
QUALITY WE STAND BEHIND
With proper care, down products have the potential to last for generations, and are completely biodegradable at the end of their lifecycle.
Unlike synthetic fills, which wear out after 3-5 years, down can last for decades. We have encountered duvets older than 150 years, with down still in good condition. When the ticking (outer covering) wears out, we can clean and restore the down and place it in a new covering. We so thoroughly believe in the longevity of our product that we guarantee the quality for up to 20 years.
MADE TO ORDER IN CANADA
We take the guess work out of determining where your bed linens and down products are manufactured; St Genève bed linens are made in-house at our Canadian atelier.
Our linens and down products are made to order at our manufacturing facility and headquarters in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Our women-led production team is made up of a diverse group of talented sewists and down experts. Our products are made to order to suit the needs of our stockists and special order clients while reducing the risk of overproduction.
DOWNMARK AND THIRD PARTY CERTIFIED
At St Genève we hold ourselves accountable by adhering to the high standards of a number of third party organizations to guarantee the quality and integrity of our products.
For over 20 years our founder Michael de la Place served as the president of the Down Association of Canada, a non-profit committed to supporting sustainable down initiatives, including the ethical treatment of birds and humane down harvesting. The Down Association of Canada's DOWNMARK® quality assurance certification is recognized worldwide as the standard for authentic Canadian made down or feather products.
EDUCATION AND INNOVATION
Since its inception in 1988, St Genève has pushed to raise industry standards for transparency and integrity in the Canadian down and textile industries.
We love sharing our knowledge and are dedicated to helping consumers make informed purchasing decisions regarding quality and environmental impact. We are committed to continued exploration of sustainable fibres and procedures to reduce our environmental impact.
