Dust mites, shall not pass!

Updated: 1 day ago

To be allergen-proof, all fabric pores must be less than 6 microns. Who achieves that? Fabrics that have been chemically coated and some synthetics. (See Complete protector) However, a natural fabric without treatment rarely manages to close the pores to avoid the passing of dust mite waste (dust mites themselves are about 250-500 microns, their waste under 20 microns). Because our Allergy protectors have a natural, tightly woven design, we decided to put them to the test and find out where on the micron scale the pores of our fabric lie.

After testing, we found out that:

  • The average pore size of our Allergy protector is 15 microns. No dust mite can pass!

  • 70% of the fabric's pores are less than 10 microns. Reducing the exposure to dust mite waste and other particles.

What does that mean for your home? The Allergy protectors are the perfect choice for households that are both allergy-conscious and anti-synthetics—making the ideal pair for our hypoallergenic duvets and pillows.
